I just gave the worst iPad demo ever.

See, I’m having a happy hour burger and a beer at Umami, and I bring my iPad with me because I’m taking one for the team, and Elise, the bartender (who I’ve never met before) asks if that’s the iPad.

Yes, I say it is the iPad, and she asks what does one use it for. Is it a computer? And I tell here it’s really somewhere in between an iPhone and a computer, and one thing that makes it so great is the apps you can put on it.

I’ve been collecting my Best Of apps list for a post here, and near the top of that list is Penultimate, a sketchbook app that looks and feels a lot like using a Pilot G-2 in a Field Notes, so I launch that to show her.

Forgetting, of course, that the first thing I’ve sketched, to test out Penultimate after having downloaded it is a giant veiny cock.

So she sees my cock and, naturally, is revolted and I end up apologizing profusely and tipping generously and long story short, we’re going out later this week.
